Values and beliefs are very important in our lives. They fulfill the purpose of our life. Every action of a person revolves around the beliefs and values they have been entrusted with. Good values have to be imparted from the early age of a person’s life so that they will not depart even when they grow older.

The Bible is a good source of Christian values and those have to be correctly taught to children from a young age so that it won’t depart when they grow older. Parents have to strive hard to bring up their children from an early age to live a life acceptable as per the values and standards given in the Bible.  Parents and local churches have to take responsibility for imparting good values to children from a young age.

In most churches, the services are conducted diligently every Sunday. In addition to this adequate time has to be given for teaching good values given from the Bible, and how to apply them in everyone’s daily life has to be discussed. There are instances where people attend church services regularly but still fail to understand the core values of Christianity and fail to demonstrate them in their daily lives.

We are very much influenced by the beliefs of the society in which we live, the cultures of the society, influence from friends and relatives, and social media.

We as Christians to live a righteous life in all circumstances and Glorify God.

On this page, some of the Christian values which are referred to in the Bible are listed. By going through this and meditating on them and applying them in day-to-day life we can fulfill the purpose of Christian life.

Let us Pray

“Heavenly Father, many times we fail in our lives to live ethical, righteous, and Holy lives. Lord, we are mostly trapped by evil forces and indulge in sinful activities and defame your name. Father forgive our shameful activities, foolishness, irresponsibility, and lack of self-control. Lord, give us hunger to live a righteous life and glorify your name. Lord, give us an understanding of the Christian values given in the Bible.  Lord, fill us with the Holy Spirit to help and remind us always to lead a Godly life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we Pray, Amen”

Exodus 20: 3-17

“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations, of those who love me and keep my commandments. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it, you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor”

Psalm 111: 10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.”

Psalm 16: 7-8

“I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night, my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

Psalm 25: 4-13

“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O Lord Good and upright is the Lord; therefore, he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. For the sake of your name, O Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.”

Psalm 4: 4

“In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent”

James 1: 19-20

“My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.”

Psalms 1:1

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked”

Galatians 5: 16-25

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other”

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
